This is an excavator in action, excavating a one level basement. The temporary retaining wall is made up of sheet piles, which is installed by a second excavator ( the one on a higher level) as it is modified with a vibratory clamp to install sheet piles.

Volvo EC140B and EC160C Excavators

Volvo, more known for it’s ultra safe passenger cars has also a construction equipment division that makes a variety of equipment including excavators. Volvo manufactured a series of medium to heavy excavators. On the lower end of the scale is the EC140B and EC160C Excavators.

Caterpillar Introduces Three Mid-Sized Hydraulic Excavators

Caterpillar introduces three new mid-sized hydraulic excavators each with a diferent swing radius geared towards different applications.The new models are,the 320D L with standard swing radius, the 320D LRR with reduced swing radius, and the 321D LCR with compact radius.

Caterpillar 320D LCR

The new D-Series machines feature greater performance and versatility than the C-Series machines they replace. The new excavators also feature the C6.4 engine with ACERT Technology for fuel-efficient and emissions compliance. A new, spacious cab increase operator comfort in the 320D L and 320D LRR, and a new cab layout aids operators in the 321D LCR. The New design and styling also sets the excavators apart.
