Fluor Awarded Full Notice to Proceed for TXU’s Oak Grove Project

Fluor Corporation announced today that it has received a full notice to proceed from a subsidiary of TXU Corp., Oak Grove Management Company LLC, to complete engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) services for the estimated $1.8 billion Oak Grove power plant project.

LVI Acquires Mazzocchi Wrecking

In another arena of industry consolidation, New York City-based LVI Services Inc., the nation’s largest asbestos and lead abatement firm, announced June 18 that it has purchased Mazzocchi Wrecking Inc., East Hanover, N.J. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ALL Erection & Crane Buys Ten New Tadano Hydraulic Cranes

ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. has taken possession of three new Tadano 130-ton all-terrain hydraulic cranes, ready now for rental. The cranes are part of a 10-crane Tadano purchase, with the remaining seven to be delivered throughout 2007.

Congressional Democrats said steps need to be taken to ensure that U.S. consumers are not getting shortchanged by “hot” fuel, but representatives of the fuel retailing industry said adjusting sales by temperature was unnecessary and would hurt small businesses.
