LVI Acquires Mazzocchi Wrecking

In another arena of industry consolidation, New York City-based LVI Services Inc., the nation’s largest asbestos and lead abatement firm, announced June 18 that it has purchased Mazzocchi Wrecking Inc., East Hanover, N.J. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Fluor Awarded Full Notice to Proceed for TXU’s Oak Grove Project

Fluor Corporation announced today that it has received a full notice to proceed from a subsidiary of TXU Corp., Oak Grove Management Company LLC, to complete engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) services for the estimated $1.8 billion Oak Grove power plant project.

Arch Coal Sells Appalachian Mine to Alpha Natural Resources

Arch Coal, Inc. today announced the divestiture of its Mingo Logan subsidiary’s Ben Creek Complex in West Virginia to Cobra Natural Resources, LLC, a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources. Upon closing of the transaction, which is expected to occur at the end of June 2007, Arch Coal will receive cash of approximately $40 million in exchange for Mingo Logan’s mining operations, ancillary equipment and 9.2 million tons of reported coal reserves as of December 31, 2006.

Texas Governor Vetoes Legislative Slowdown on Trans-Texas Corridor
